Support at Every Project Stage
Load Calculation Support
Load calculation support turns a complete structural brief into a practical grating pre-selection. You provide the clear span, load cases, contact areas, supports and governing criteria; we return a recommended bearing-bar direction and section range, with the calculation basis where the agreed scope requires it.

Inputs required before a load review
The review starts only when the load path is clear. Provide the clear support span measured in the bearing-bar direction, the support-seat arrangement, every applicable load case and the project deflection or safety criteria. A platform-area load alone is not enough when wheels, legs, pallets or equipment concentrate force over a smaller contact area.
- Clear span and bearing-bar direction
- Uniform, concentrated and wheel loads with contact areas
- Support width, continuity, cantilevers and unusual boundary conditions
- Material, corrosion allowance and serrated or plain surface
- Applicable project standard, safety factor and deflection limit
What the review can return
The output is a project-specific pre-selection: suitable bearing-bar section or options, the assumed spacing and bearing direction, and the governing load case identified from the supplied information. Where calculation notes form part of the agreed scope, the method and assumptions can be stated for review.
Reference tables remain useful for early comparison. The related Load Tables page gives the data and its limitations; this service page explains the workflow for applying project inputs. The two are intentionally separate.
- Recommended section or a short list of workable options
- Assumptions and missing inputs that still require confirmation
- Reference to the governing load case and deflection criterion
- Questions or drawing changes needed before quotation or production
Service boundary
The result depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information supplied. Wheel impact, fatigue, seismic effects, fire design, unusual restraint, supporting steel and local regulations remain within the responsible project engineer’s scope unless a separate written scope states otherwise.
Final structural approval belongs to the owner or their qualified engineer. Production starts only from the approved specification and drawings; no draft website statement replaces project calculations, design approval or governing codes.
Process
How It Works
-
Send the structural brief
Provide span, loads, contact areas, supports, material, environment and governing criteria.
-
Input check
Missing or conflicting values are listed before a section is proposed.
-
Pre-selection
Bearing direction, spacing and a practical section range are compared against the stated cases.
-
Calculation review
The governing case, assumptions and deflection criterion are documented to the agreed level.
-
Project confirmation
The owner or responsible engineer reviews the recommendation before quotation and production.
Checklist
