From layout geometry to panel numbers
Custom fabrication starts with the support layout and bearing-bar direction, then divides the area into panels that can be fabricated, coated, packed, handled and installed. Every notch, opening, curved edge and boundary needs a clear dimension and reference point; site-trim assumptions are avoided wherever accurate drawings are available.
The review also sets practical limits. Narrow strips need enough structure for banding, openings need clearance for fabrication and the selected coating process, and large or awkward shapes may be split into smaller numbered panels. These limits are confirmed on the drawing rather than hidden inside a standard-panel table.

Notched and cut-out panels
Openings for columns, pipes or equipment are dimensioned, cut and banded to the approved drawing.
Curved and fan-shaped panels
Arcs and changing widths are divided into practical panel shapes and numbered for site placement.
Trapezoidal and transition panels
Non-parallel edges and changes in walkway width are detailed with the bearing direction kept explicit.
Material and finish for one-off panels
Material and finish are selected after the geometry, environment and fabrication route are understood. One-off panels can concentrate welding and cut edges around openings, so the sequence of cutting, banding and finishing is part of the feasibility review.
For hot-dip galvanized carbon steel, all fabrication is completed before coating per ASTM A123 / ISO 1461 or the customer standard. Small openings and narrow clearances can trap or bridge zinc; the minimum workable opening and any split-panel solution are confirmed per project before production.
